Industrial retrieval tools are designed for removing foreign objects, loose parts, wires, rings, metal fragments and other debris from confined inspection areas. They are typically used together with videoscopes or borescopes during remote visual inspection, especially when an object is detected but cannot be reached by hand.
The product range includes micro retrieval tools for narrow access as well as long-reach tools for deeper industrial inspection areas. Different head designs are available depending on the object shape, available clearance and required gripping force.
Please note: retrieval tools are application-specific mechanical accessories. Final selection should be confirmed based on access diameter, required working length, object shape, object material and available operating space.
| Tool Category | Typical Outer Diameter | Typical Length Options | Head Type | Recommended Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Micro Snare Tool | 1.4 mm | 20 ft | Snare braided-wire loop | Rings, wires and loopable objects |
| Micro Three-Prong Gripper | 1.4 mm / 2.4 mm | 10 ft / 20 ft | Three retractable prongs | Small irregular parts |
| Micro Alligator Tool | 1.4 mm / 2.3 mm / 3.0 mm | 10 ft / 20 ft | Alligator forceps | Flat, edged or grip-friendly objects |
| Micro Basket / Forceps Range | 2.4 mm / 2.8 mm / 3.0 mm | 10 ft / 20 ft | Basket, cup forceps, toothed clam, fork & tine | Precision retrieval in narrow access areas |
| Long-Reach Retrieval Tools | 4 mm / 6 mm / 8 mm / 10 mm | 11.5 / 15 / 25 / 33 / 40 / 50 ft | Fork & tine, gripping pliers, snare, Viper, magnet | Deeper cavities and larger access openings |
| Magnetic Retrieval Tool | 4 mm / 8 mm | 11.5 / 15 / 25 / 33 / 40 / 50 ft | Rare-earth magnet | Ferrous metal fragments and dropped steel parts |
The head type should be selected according to the object shape. A snare is suitable for loopable objects, alligator forceps are suitable for flat or edged parts, three-prong grippers are useful for small irregular objects, and magnets are suitable for ferrous metal parts.
They are generally used together with videoscopes during inspection, but they are not automatically compatible with every probe or system. Diameter, working length, access clearance and fitting method must be confirmed before quotation.
The smallest tool options start from approximately 1.4 mm outer diameter. The practical access diameter should be larger than the tool diameter to allow movement and retrieval operation.
Yes. Long-reach retrieval tools are available in several outer diameter options, with typical lengths up to 50 ft depending on the head type and configuration.
No. Magnetic tools are suitable for ferrous metal objects only. For non-magnetic materials, mechanical gripping tools such as snares, baskets, alligator forceps or three-prong grippers should be considered.
Pricing depends on outer diameter, length, head type and fitting requirements. Please send the object size, access diameter, required length and application details for a suitable quotation.
